Waving hello to a fan at one of our final Sundays at the Rex. In 2005, we had the honour of performing for the 60th Anniversary of VE Day down at the Canadian National Exhibition's Ricoh Colliseum. Singing with the Starlight Orchestra we paid tribute to all of Canada's Veterans and active servicemen and women. Thousands of people attended the celebration to have a great time and say thank you to the Vets! In our dressing room before our Waterloo Theatre show. The fresh faced Rosies at the Grand Opening of the Carlu. MAC's Russian Red lipstick was the perfect way to decorate our dressing room door at the Sterling Theatre in 2007. Ahhhh the glamour. Yes, the tip jar is how the band got paid all those years of REX shows. She had many names: Connie the Container, Molly Manager, Janet the Jar. Thank you for feeding her (and us)! Swing Rosie's first year coincided with the opening of the Carlu, a beautifully restored venue in the heart of downtown Toronto. Our 40s sound perfectly matched the decor in the elegant Round Room. Chatting with the folks onair at Jazz.FM was always a blast. Here we are entertaining Heather Bambrick with our moves at Jazz.FM's onsite studio in Nathan Phillips Square during the 2006 Toronto Downtown Jazz Festival. Our CD release show in July of 2005 was a magical night at the Mod Club. So many people came out to dance and swing to the music. What a party! The summer of 2006 we toured up to Pointe au Baril. Outside of the community centre theatre we decided it was high time we got a photo of Swing Rosie really swinging! Did you know to be on Breakfast Television you have to wake up at 5AM?? This shot must be after our morning performance cause we sure didn't look that awake when we first arrived on set! A classic indie band shot. You know, those promotion packages don't make themselves! Our final show on November 15th, 2007 at the Lula Lounge was such an amazing night. Fans, friends and music packed the house! Swing Rocks!! We had the good fortune of performing at the Hamilton Mustard Festival three times between 2004 and 2007. Here we are in 2005 after our show posing with our furriest fan, Bella. Saturday afternoon shows at the iconic Toronto rock (and jazz) bar Healeys. The old basement location on Bathurst street, that is. Thanks for booking us so many times, Jeff! Shannon singing at the Distillery District Jazz Festival. Chantelle, Glenn, William and Kira behind the scenes at the Pickering Jazz Festival. Always a treat to sing under the sun! Three heads are better than one! Rosie Tootsies! The coloured lights of the 2006 Pride Festival stage. We had a great time singing while Swingin' Out lead the dancing in the streets! The gloves, the moves and the music delighted the crowd at the Newmarket Jazz Festival when we opened for Jeff Healey and his Jazz Wizards. Chantelle during a summery Sunday night at the Rex. We recorded Sing Cool, Swing Hot in two fun and focus filled days at Phase One in 2005. What a thrill is was to capture our sound with the help of our amazing band - William Sperandei, Peter Hill, Glenn Anderson, Ross Wooldridge and Ka-Cheong Liu.
